The May Report
May is usually a month with moderate winds and the possibility of a few thunderstorms. This May we have very high winds the first half and light winds the second half of the month, with no thunderstorms. In general, great weather with a lot of wind. Temps were in the mid 80?s for highs and 70 ? 75 for lows. The first half of the month the fishing was tough due to the high winds. The tarpon were laying low and it was hard to get a bait to the bones and permit. The second half of the month has been great for everything.
The weather is absolutely perfect now and it looks like it will hold for some time. The fish are out and biting well. I have seen lots of bonefish, permit, and tarpon of all sizes. It?s a fly fisherman?s dream. We did real well this past week.
June should be a good month as long as the tropical storms don?t get us too bad. The wind is generally very light and the afternoon thunderstorms provide a nice cool down. Tarpon will be heading north in large groups along the beaches. Bonefish and permit will remain consistent as well. It is a great time to fly fish.
Here are some recent catches with Pete Lovell leading the pack with a grand slam.

Doug Ballard gets a nice jump out of a tarpon. He fought that fish right up to the boat and got the Palm Beach Release on it.
