The Slam!

Report Date: March 17, 2004

You Da Man!

The Slam!

The last two days the wind was howling and the bite was slow again. I think we only jumped one tarpon. However, today would prove to be a different story.

A mild front came through and with the wind out of the northwest we were able to fish Government Cut. The tarpon were happy. Doug Fash caught one that was about 100# for some nice photos. Then we finished the spot with a nice double header.

Next we went to find the bones. The fly rod came out and the bones started coming. Doug had several shots and landed two about 4.5 lbs each. It was picture perfect.

With only a little time in the day left I decided we had to try for the slam. So it was off to the permit honey hole. When we arrived the permit were floating and hungry. With the first cast Doug put the crab right in front of a 19 lber. It was just too easy. Pretty work Doug.
